GCSE & PRE-16 RESULTS DAYS 2026

GCSE SUCCESS 2026

The 'Class of 2026' GCSE cohort at Cranford Community College have outperformed their predictions and achieved another set of remarkable outcomes at GCSE, which demonstrate excellent academic progress during their five years at Cranford, thus giving them access to the broad range of Level 3 courses in Cranford's thriving sixth form.

These results remain significantly above the latest published national averages across all key headline measures including the proportion of students achieving grade 5 or above in Mathematics and English.

Chief Executive, Kevin Prunty said:

“Another cohort of students with strong results is testament to the talent, determination, and diligence of all our students and staff.

Although there is no national progress data this year, the students were tested on entry and that objective baseline data indicates that progress, which is the most important measure, continues to be very positive with students, on average, achieving more than a grade above expectation

We ask every Cranford student to perform to their personal best, so it is particularly pleasing to see results that reflect that ambition and to have students being amply rewarded for their hard work, including with the top grades.

These results, alongside excellent outcomes in our vibrant and expanding sixth form last week, provide a particularly strong foundation for a bright and illustrious future for all the well-educated students attending Cranford Community College.”

There are so many Cranford students who have done exceptionally well it is hard to pick just a few. We have chosen a small selection to be represented here but we celebrate the achievements of many more and our entire, inclusive cohort:

  • Twins Niti and Risha Patil shone at GCSE accomplishing between them an impressive ELEVEN GCSEs at grade 9 and NINE at grade 8. Both have enrolled at Cranford Sixth Form where their shared drive and individual and personal ambitions will stand them in excellent stead for their Level 3 courses.
  • Muskah Qaderi and Adeeba Mughal each achieved an exceptional SIX grade 9s and THREE grade 8s. Both will study A levels in English Literature. Muskah will also study History and Mathematics A levels, and Adeeba has chosen to study Sociology alongside BTEC Creative Media.
  • Omar Qadari achieved a superb FIVE grade 9s and will go on to study Physics, Mathematics and Further Mathematics A levels.
  • Devneet Ghaba collected a haul of FOUR grade 9s and an average point score (APS) of above 8 across all her subjects. Devneet will continue her studies at Cranford Sixth Form, studying A levels in Biology, Psychology and Sociology.
  • Finally, for now, Alexander Amrouche, a member of our hugely successful (Exceptional) and renowned Picasso Centre, deserves special mention for his outstanding set of results. Despite challenges during his final year, Alexander's talent, resilience, and determination, as well as the fantastic support at home and at school (a great partnership) supported him to accomplish EIGHT GCSEs at grades 7–9. He will continue to pursue his passion for Mathematics at Cranford, taking Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A level.

In addition to these marvellous academic outcomes, Cranford's recent inspection report (2026) recognised PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT as one of the areas for which the school is independently judged as EXCEPTIONAL.

This holistic quality of education ensures that Cranford students are not just well-educated young people, but they are also developed as well-rounded individuals – and with exceptional 'soft skills' – an essential ingredient for success and happiness in life and to be attractive to prospective employers when entering the world of work.

Finally, as Chief Executive, I want to offer my congratulations to all our students and staff on their exceptional efforts and a big thank you to our loyal families for their commitment and encouragement. It is only by working together that we can support our children to be so successful.

Thanks to the hard work of the students, the very high quality of teaching and support and the constant encouragement from families, our Year 11 students have shown the confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding to succeed, and outperform their peers nationally.

His Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools sent a congratulatory letter to the school on GCSE results day stating:

The 'exceptional' grades are designed to identify the very best educational practice that exists within England

To receive the 'exceptional' grades that Cranford has, practice needs to not only be of the highest standard but sustained over time and have a transformational impact, especially for those who face barriers to their learning

I would therefore like to commend you and your team on your excellent work.

You should be very proud of what has been achieved.

I trust you will take this opportunity to share your learning and best practice with others locally and nationally to support system-wide improvement.
