APPLICATIONS FOR IN-YEAR ADMISSION OR TRANSFER

In‑Year Admissions

Apply directly to the Academy for a place during the school year. Fair, transparent and in line with the School Admissions Code 2021.

Apply now (In‑Year form)

How to apply

In‑year admissions (applications outside the normal Year 6→7 September transfer) must be made directly to the Academy — not via the Local Authority.

The Academy Trust is the admissions authority and follows the School Admissions Code 2021.

Additional guidance: Priority rules include children adopted from state care outside England and the local Fair Access Protocol (Hounslow version currently being updated).

Waiting list
The academy operates a fair waiting list when full. If a vacancy arises, all applications (including existing waitlist) are ranked using the published oversubscription criteria.
No other factors
Allocations follow the published criteria only. Parents are notified of decisions within 15 school days with reasons and appeal rights.

Appeal timetable (In‑Year)

Deadline to lodge appeal
You must appeal within 20 school days of refusal and include all evidence and reasons.
Appeal hearing
Heard within 30 school days of the appeal form being received.

Fraudulent or misleading applications

If false or misleading information is given, the Academy may withdraw a place even after a student has started, and may refer the matter to the police.

Address checks are rigorous. The Academy may require additional evidence. Future or temporary addresses cannot be used.

Examples of addresses of convenience include:

  • Using a relative’s or childminder’s address
  • Using the address of a parent where the child spends less time
  • Renting/using a property while still owning another primary residence
  • Using a UK address while living overseas

If you move, notify admissions@cranford.hounslow.sch.uk within 2 weeks.

Fair Access & vulnerable pupils
We work with Hounslow and neighbouring boroughs under the Fair Access Protocol 2025 to ensure vulnerable children are placed swiftly into schools.
Children educated outside their normal age group
Requests may be made and are agreed only in limited circumstances in the best interests of the child. Supporting evidence should be provided. Appeals do not apply to year-group decisions.
