Cranford students have once more performed exceptionally well with significant increases at the top grades, compared to the DFE’s benchmark of 2019 results, now seeing 12% of students achieving the top grades of A*- A.

Executive Headteacher Kevin Prunty said "We are delighted with the impressive performances of our A level and T level students and overjoyed with the huge progress they have made over their courses.

The students have worked extremely hard and we are very proud of their results, in academic, vocational and technical qualifications. Equally pleasing is that our students are now heading off around the country and overseas to some of the most prestigious universities to continue their education with the great depth of skills and experience their time at Cranford has provided.”

Amongst the many students heading off to Russell group universities, there are some real stand out high fliers:

  • Nancy Harkous and Abdulkhaliq Powell both achieved amazing A*, A*, A results and will stay in London to study at the world-leading Imperial and Kings Colleges. Abdulkhaliq will follow his passion for Chemistry at Imperial College and Nancy will read Computer Science at Kings College London, where Maymuun Mohamed has also secured a place to study Biochemistry after managing straight A grades.
  • Prem Pun performed brilliantly under pressure obtaining A*, A*, A with A*s in Maths and Further Maths and will be reading Mathematics at Edinburgh university.
  • Travelling even further afield are Alia Samad, who won the Dean Scholarship to attend the University of Connecticut in the USA where she will major in Computer Science, and Jishnu Ganapa who will study Medicine at the University of Prague in the Czech Republic.
  • Sameiksha Sharma, former Head Girl, has also achieved her aspiration of studying medicine, after her 4 A grades gained her a place at the University of Exeter.
  • Closer to home, Mafee Ehsan, is another Cranford superstar and achieved the highest Value Added in the year group securing more than one and a half grades above nationally expected levels with a phenomenal A* in Sociology to go with A grades in English Literature and History. Mafee is off to Queen Mary to study Law.
  • Jasleen Sethi managed the same impressive A*, A, A grades and will also stay in London to study Psychology at London School of Economics and Political Science. She will join Hanan Benaissa at the prestigious LSE, who will be studying Sociology following achieving an outstanding A* in this subject to go with her A grade in Maths and Distinction in Children's Play, Learning and Development.
  • A stand-out cohort this year are the amazing Digital T level students where Faisal Abdikadir, Musa Ahmad, Ahmad Ahmadzai, Yashraj Geentilal and Joash Thomas all achieved Distinctions, equivalent to 3 straight A grades each. They will continue to pursue this digital career pathway with Faisal and Musa going off to University to study Computer Science, Ahmad joining them to read Software Engineering and Joash due to begin a degree apprenticeship in the Autumn.
  • It has been a great year for our budding Computer Scientists as Salman Abdalle’s fantastic A*, A, A grades see him set off to Bristol University to read this subject too.

A MASSIVE thank you and congratulations to all our wonderful Year 13 students and their teachers for all their hard work.
