Study Centres 1-5 and Learning Resource Centre

The Library acts as a hub of activity for the academy, students are encouraged to use the Library in the morning, break, lunch & after-school to support their curriculum studies. Students are actively encouraged to embrace the environment as learners, as a result students participate in author events, reading initiatives, competitions and whole school activities. Students active engagement is at the heart of the Library ethos, the aims include Library volunteers and Library ambassadors who take pride in supporting the Centre.

The four Supervised Study Centres are learning hubs that are tailored to cater for Sixth Form students. Independent Learning and Inclusion is at the heart of the Centres ethos and students are expected to work and think independently. Support within the Centres means exclusive focus is given with precision. In order for the Study Ethos to succeed, we ensure that all students at all levels get the very best from their visits, procedures are strictly enforced in order to maintain standards. The spirit of Independent learning is engendered and maintained within the student body. With the highest expectations we can ensure that all students progress as much as possible. A silent study philosophy is enforced and students are required to book the Group Study Rooms in advance to facilitate group work and self-teaching.
