PERFORMANCE TABLES SUMMARY
KEY STAGE 4
Continuing a consistent and very strong ‘year on year’ trend, Cranford students in 2022, have performed WELL ABOVE NATIONAL AND LOCAL AVERAGES across a very broad curriculum, including across all the EBacc subjects, and this leads on to high destination rates to the sixth form, employment/training and higher education (including top universities).
The Performance of KS4 pupils in 2022
• Students entering the EBACC subjects are 96% compared with a national of 39%
• Progress 8 score is +0.56 compared with a national average of -0.03
• Staying on in education, employment or training is 97% compared with a national of 94%
• Students gaining grade 5 in both English and maths is 55% compared with a national of 50%
• Attainment 8 score is 50.9 compared with a national of 48.7
• EBACC average point score is 4.81 compared with a national of 4.27
Progress measures show that Cranford students make excellent progress over Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. In all the key measures, Cranford students performed better than students nationally.
POST 16
Following a drive to improve results, progress, and attainment for students in the Sixth form has continued to rise
significantly.
At A Level, Applied General and Technical Courses, the value added was very positive compared with national, and the highest for Cranford to date.
The pleasing outcomes at A level are best described through the outcomes and university destinations of Cranford’s students.
Amongst the many students heading off to Russell group universities, there are some stand out highfliers:
- Iman Jaura achieved an A* grade in RE to go with A grades in History and Maths and earned a place at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University where she is studying Law.
- Ahmed Ali turned down his place at Cambridge University, despite achieving four A* grades, as he has been offered a full scholarship to read Maths at Imperial College, London.
- Also studying at Imperial will be Rayyan Khan (A*, A*, A) who will study Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
- Rohan Kapoor is another student who achieved a perfect set of four A* grades and is now reading Maths at Warwick.
- Rohan will be joined at Warwick University by Kavleen Arora and Manpreet Bahtra who gained superb results of A*, A*, A and will study Law and Computer Science respectively.
- Kings College, London has proved popular with Cranford students this year, particularly for three of Cranford’s future doctors. Aliya Abdullai (A*, A*, A*) will be reading Medicine at Kings alongside Shargeel Hussain (A*, A*, A) and Filsan Abdillahi (A, A, A).
- They will be joined at Kings College, London by Zehra Hasan (A*, A*, A, A) reading Computer Science and Raaid Athar (A, A, A) reading Electronic Engineering.
- Other highfliers staying in London include Mohammed Abdul Hamid (A*, A*, A*), Faizaan Abbas (A*, A*, and Ajeet Bhatti (A*, A*, A, A) who will all be attending University College London to read Maths, Electronic Engineering and Law respectively;
- Zayia Berum (A*, A*, A*) and Guneet Dhameja (A, A, A) who will be heading to London School of Economics (LSE) to read Economic History and Geography and Economics;
- Priyajeet Bagga (A*, A*, A, Distinction*), Sybil Raposo (A, A, A) and Jasmin Kaur (A, A, A) have opted for Royal Holloway to study Economics, Business and Management and Psychology respectively;
- Athisha Sivabalan (A*, A* A) will read Computer Science with Maths at Queen Mary University, alongside Dua-E Zehra (A, A, A) studying Accounting and Management.
- Ehsan Ayobi’s straight A grades in Chemistry, Maths and Physics have helped him secure a prestigious Civil Engineering apprenticeship at Balfour Beatty.
Recruitment into the Sixth Form has remained strong with the vast majority of Year 11 students choosing to stay at Cranford whilst also attracting many ambitious external students from other schools.
