KEY STAGE 4
Raffle Tickets – Weekly prize draws
We use a raffle ticket system. Members of staff fill in a colour–coded carbonated raffle ticket and place the top copy in the corresponding year box in the staff room. The bottom copy goes to the PM to be recorded. There is a weekly raffle draw during the year team assembly, made by the SLT / PM and the prize is a £5 voucher of their choice from W H Smith, HMV, JD Sports or River Island. This means that the prize draws are more often and that students who get more vouchers have a better chance of winning. The choice of voucher means that students will hopefully win something that they like and will use.
KEY STAGE 5
Air Miles – Weekly prize draws
Members of staff use vouchers to represent Air Miles. This system is the same as that for Key Stage 4 except that staff can decide between 5, 10 or 15 air miles per voucher. The total number of air miles at the end of each term decides which prize draw a student is entered for. There will be a weekly prize draw during the assemblies where one voucher is drawn out of the box and this student gets the choice of a voucher from one of the local retailers.
Good News Notes / Dept Postcards
These will continue to be used throughout the school to praise students more formally.
END OF TERM – termly prize draws
The end of term prize draws will be made at some point during the final week.
Every student has the chance of being included in an end of term prize draw where the prizes are much bigger but the winner will be decided by drawing a name out of a hat. The thresholds for Key Stage 3 are calculated per term and are shown here.
There will be 3 draws at the end of each term.
| Gold Prize | £100 | 300+ Rewards |
| Silver Prize | £50 | 200-300 Rewards |
| Bronze Prize | £25 | 100-200 Rewards |
This system allows for students who have a slow start in term 1 but can improve in a subsequent term and qualify for a prize draw in term 2 or 3.
When the draws are made the 3 names are drawn out and then the Gold winner is given the opportunity to choose their prize. Then the silver winner gets 2nd choice and the bronze winner gets the 3rd prize. The 3 prizes could be of equal value and they will be bought after consultation with the students as to what they would like to be able to win.
Key Stage 4 and 5 students are included in these prize draws. In order to qualify for the draws they need to collect the following number of vouchers / air miles
