GCSE Results 2011
A marvellous day! Cranford's Year 11 students have been outstanding and achieved the best results ever with 100% of students getting at least 5 GCSE passes, 91% of students getting more than 5 GCSEs at the higher grades (an 8% rise) and another new record with 56% achieving more than 5 higher grade GCSE including English and maths.
As a former specialist language college, we were also proud of the 68% of students gaining higher grade passes in languages.
Our students end year 11 well qualified for further study and work and the high points scores they have achieved will open doors to their futures.
I am very proud of the quality of teaching which has inspired our students to these new heights.
Some of the students that have made the greatest progress include Sonia Khosla (9 A* and 4 A grades), Sandeep Tamber (8 A*, 4 A, 2 B and 2 C grades), Mittal Bharadwa (8 A*, 4 A, 1 B and 1 C grades) and Shahrazad Haddad (8 A*, 4 A, 1B and 1 C). However, we are delighted to be able to celebrate the success of so many.
The class of 2011 has done us proud.
Thank you everyone who made this happen – it did not happen by accident.

We are all delighted with these excellent results for Cranford students, the best ever and continuing the upward trend.
Particularly pleasing is the significant rise to 42% in the highest A*, A and B grades which has helped so many to get onto their chosen university courses even with the strong competition for the best places and best universities this year. Cranford's young people have a future; a very bright future earned through hard work and excellent teaching. These are young people our community can be very proud of. The A level pass rate is 97%, the APS per student is 534.2 and the APS per entry is 211.1
Cranford students have also shown their worth in vocational courses in Year 13 including the Level 3 BTEC National Business with 19 Double Distinctions and 1 Distinction Merit out of 20 students. For example, Devinder Gill gained AAA grades through A level RE and a double distinction in BTEC Business. He goes on to read Psychology at Hertfordshire.
The results at AS, where the raising achievement strategy was introduced last September, were also encouraging. The percentages of highest grades (A and B) rose by 11% to 31% and A-C grades rose by 15% to 51%.
