Cranford students have once more performed incredibly well across the board with all measures improving against the DFE’s benchmark of 2019 results and 31% of students achieving the top grades of A*-B, an increase of nearly 10%.

This remarkable cohort, who achieved the best GCSE results the academy has delivered, have now shown their strength again in the return to full examinations.

Executive Headteacher and CEO Designate, Kevin Prunty said "We are delighted with the tremendous performances of our A level students this year. Our students have worked extremely hard and we are very proud of their results, in academic, vocational and technical qualifications. Equally pleasing is that our students are now heading off around the country to some of the most prestigious universities to continue their education with the great depth of skills and experience their time at Cranford has provided.”

Amongst the many students heading off to Russell group universities, there are some real stand out high fliers:

  • Samuel Dickson achieved an A* grade in RE to go with his A grade in Chemistry and B in English Language and Literature and has won a place at Oxford University where he will study Theology and Religion
  • Ayesha Kaur could not have done better than her 3 A* grades and will be interviewing for Medicine at Kings College London next week. Chemical Engineering remains her other option and this is a popular subject for some of our brightest girls, as Harsimran Bath who achieved 4 A grades will also be pursuing this course at University College London.
  • Our two superstar ASD Picasso Centre students Shreyas Shikhare and Daniel Ortega have performed brilliantly in their A levels. Shreyas obtained an amazing A*, A*, A in Maths, Further Maths and Physics and is off to Kings College, London to read Physics with Astrophysics and Cosmology; Daniel achieved A*, A, A in RE, English Literature and Economics and will be heading to the south coast to study Politics and Geography at Exeter University.
  • Cranford’s close relationship with Warwick University continues this year with Zayd Chaudhry (Accounting and Finance), Heenal Mehra (Economics) and Gurnoor Singh-Kaur (Mechanical Engineering) all joining them this autumn with 3 straight A grades each!
  • Oliwia Bartnicka, Nikola Szcawinska and Isra Jadoon are heading even further north, with Isra’s three A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Psychology taking her to Manchester to pursue Dentistry, Oliwia (A*, A, A, B) heading to Nottingham to specialise in Cancer Sciences and Nikola going to Edinburgh to read English Literature and Classics with her A* grades in English Literature and Fine Art.
  • Other high-fliers are staying closer to home in London, including Manav Vivek (A*, A, A) enrolling at Royal Holloway to study Physics, alongside Jasdeep Punyani (A, A, B) and Sanjana Bhola (A, B, B) who are reading Computer Science and Creative Writing respectively. Kehan Munir (A*, A, B), Shenon Dias (A, A, B) and Zayed Fadhluddin (A, A, B) will all join Shreyas at Kings College, London. Elsewhere in the capital, Shehrose Haddad (A, A, B) will be reading Law at City University and Aja Cundall (A*, B, Distinction) enrols in the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama to study Drama, Applied Theatre and Education.
  • Our Education and Childcare T Level students, such as Samia Osman, Jasmine Kaur and Jasanpreet Sidhu have again shown the potential of these new qualifications by successfully obtaining Merits and heading off to study Education, Psychology and Nursing at university. Harmanpreet Singh also achieved a Merit in his Digital Production, Design and Development and will be staying right here at Cranford to begin an Apprenticeship in Network Engineering.

A huge thank you and well done to all of our students and their teachers.
